"Our mission in providing lessons is to prepare people for all aspects of horse ownership, safely, accurately, and in a fun way, helping to build the confidence and leadership qualities of our students and to prevent the abuse and neglect which the un-educated owner might allow."
For this reason, education in horse care, theory and equine psychology is a required part of all lesson types.

English Horsemanship:
Learn to ride a horse at your ability level. English Horsemanship will teach you control of your seat, leg and balance as well as much more, preparing you for the direction of your choice! You can learn to jump, dance dressage or just enjoy pleasure or trial riding. Theory and Stable Management are also worked into this lesson type.
Western Horsemanship:
Learn everything from the very basics of controlling your seat and balance at a walk to learning roll backs and sliding stops! Western Horsemanship teaches you to ride a horse safely at your ability level in the Western discipline, preparing you for trail rides, pleasure riding, showing or rodeo games such as barrel racing or pole bending. We start by teaching you to groom and tack up your horse and will only move as fast as you feel comfortable. Theory and Stable Management are also worked into this lesson type.
Horsemanship from the Heart™:
This is a chance to learn about the horse from the ground up. Learn why they act and react the way they do and how to safely predict and help influence their reactions. This natural horsemanship-based training method is designed for even a beginner. If you want to learn the basics of horse training or if you have a horse of your own that you'd like to communicate with, understand better or work through specific challenges with, this is a great way to achieve your goals. Using the horse's own natural behavioral patterns and your own "people skills," learn to teach your horse YOUR boundaries and what you expect of them, all while respecting their emotions and stress levels.
Stable Management:
Learn about general horse care and stable management, such as proper etiquette in and around a stable, feeding and watering requirements of a horse, what it takes to look after them, parasite control and other equine maintenance such as hoof care, grooming and advanced leading techniques. We have had stallions and often have broodmares here, so mare-care and reproductive management are part of our stable management lessons.
Theory:
Learn about different breeds, colors, markings; how to clearly and accurately identify a horse in a large group; different kinds of unsoundness and blemishes; horse terminology; conformational analysis and psychology, as well as saddle fitting, parts of the horse and tack and equipment maintenance.
