About Christa Miremadi

Christa Miremadi has been working with and around horses for as long as she can remember.  Starting out as a three-year-old, eager to be on horseback at all times, Christa pursued and competed in Hunter, Jumper, English equitation, and then later Dressage, as well as such Western disciplines as Western Pleasure, Stock Seat and Reining.  Knowing that her passion was to work closely with the horse and not against it, Christa began her career starting and tuning up horses for a ranch in Alberta throughout the summer months at the age of 13 under the guidance of many talented teachers.  She also worked as a trail guide for hourly rides, day rides and overnights in Alberta's back country.  She has been teaching riding lessons for more than 13 years and she is certified by CHA (Certified Horsemanship Association) as a Level 3 Western and Level 1 English riding instructor.  She has been managing Silver Star Stables and acting as Riding Director for 10 years as well as being the founder of Horsemanship from the Heart, born in 2006, a horsemanship program designed to build relationships and open the lines of compassionate communication between humans and their equines.

Today, Christa's passion is exactly that: helping horses and humans to develop bonds of trust, confidence and peaceful communication.  Teaching the art of leadership, balance and flexibility, Christa's passion is contagious and we're confident that if what you're looking for is quiet, patient leadership training, Christa can teach you the balance, flexibility and compassion necessary to provide stable leadership to your horse.

Services

Starting - After building a strong foundation of groundwork, your horse will develop a basic understanding                  of walk, trot and lope under saddle.

Continuing - Once the strong foundation has been developed, develop soft and confident responses,
refining transitions, softness in the bridle and to the leg, and creating an understanding of
lateral movements such as leg yields, pivots and turns on the forehand/haunches.

Trouble Shooting - Uncover and redirect "misbehavior" that has become problematic.

Confidence Building - At any age or level of training, confidence building can help your horse to learn the                                    skills necessary to face new things.  Provide your horse with the skills that will                                         help them to deal with new and potentially scary things.

We've been boarding and training at Silver Star Stables for a few months now and I couldn't even dream about a better home for us. Thanks to Christa's help and tremendous teaching ability we've already came a long way. I'm learning to be a leader for my horse, to listen and to respect his opinion in a way that is safe for both of us; we both learn to trust each other again and to enjoy each other's company.

I am very happy to have had the opportunity to train with you and have you work with two of our horses: Shylow and Cash.  These horses have entirely different personalities. Your training methods for each have lent itself to a wonderful learning experience for both the horse and the rider.  I truly hope we have the opportunity to work with you again!
Thank you,
-Cindy MacKay

I was amazed at how quickly my horse responded to Christa, and how quickly she was able to bond with him.  The first time I watched her work with him in the round pen I was very impressed, it was as if I was looking at a completely different horse.

When Christa invited me to her new clinic, Riding with the Elements, I was excited and thought I would be in store for a fun weekend full of new ideas for me and my horse. What I didn't expect was to find a completely renewed confidence in my riding abilities and that elusive connection to my horse. A connection I had not been able to find with any of my horses in five years. My friends would attest to the fact that I am open to new ideas and am non-judgmental, but at the same time am a fairly skeptical person and aware of the abundance of clinics out there (horse-related or otherwise) that are all hype and little substance. I am happy to report that the "wow" moments in this clinic were many and the proof is truly in the pudding. This is not hocus pocus but practical skills that enable you to connect with and appropriately respond to your horse - giving you better tools to help you achieve your goals, whether they be in the show arena or the backcountry trails. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking to establish a better connection with their horse - and discover a better rider in themselves. If you feel like there is something missing, that there's something you're just not getting, I am pretty sure you will find out what it is in this clinic. And the chicken and chili lunches were fantastic too! Thanks to Christa, Eliya, Pinto and all the warm and friendly people at Silverstar Stables. Akhiran and I had a blast and we will apply our new learning’s at our next endurance ride in July!

I just attended the most impressive riding clinic I have ever been a part of. I feel privileged to have participated and learned so much about my horse, myself and our partnership. Christa Miremadi has the rare talent to not only have a deep understanding of horse behavior but also be such a gifted teacher and coach that she can translate it into words and images that work for each set of equine/ human partners. As a biologist, I appreciate her approach that centers on understanding how horses communicate and react. I learned that artificial aids can be effectively replaced with balance and clarity in your body and your horse will become lighter and more responsive. Although the clinic was goal oriented, it was not achievement of goals at any cost. We all learned tools to help us with issues we have or even to change goals if necessary by breaking them down into levels at which we could succeed. I highly recommend this clinic for any rider. Bring your horse and yourself, leave any misconceptions about natural horsemanship behind and be open to finding an incredible new partnership.
